Harley-Davidson set to celebrate 115th Anniversary in Prague

2018 will be Harley–Davidson’s 115th year. And to mark the occasion with a bang two flagship events are planned – the 115th Anniversary in Prague will be ready to roll July 5-8th 2018 and again in Milwaukee over the Labor Day weekend, August 30-3 September. They’re going to be two huge parties thrown by Harley-Davidson and, at their heart, a celebration of riders. That’s all riders; everyone who remembers the freedom they felt the first time they took off pedaling down the street on two wheels. And those who took it further…

The generations of fathers, sons, mothers, brothers, sisters and friends who fired up their engines and built lifelong bonds through the simple pursuit of chasing their own horizons, and following their dreams. And it’s the flat track racers, the Saturday night cruisers, the drag racers, the club members, the garage customisers and the mile-eating road warriors.

The 115th Anniversary in Prague is a party for the people. It’s all about riding, racing, meeting new friends and connecting with people who share the passion for the freedom of two wheels. So all motorcyclists, on any bike – and especially anybody that hasn’t started riding yet – are welcome in Prague. The celebration crowns a portfolio of large-scale events managed and delivered by Harley-Davidson throughout Europe – including European Bike Week in Austria where over 120,000 people celebrate motorcycling and music over a week in September.

And it’s a fitting location because the Harley-Davidson brand has a long history with the Czech Republic and Prague itself is home to the world’s oldest H-D club – Harley-Davidson Club Praha – in existence for 90 years.

To celebrate 115 years a special collection of over 150 Harley-Davidson motorcycles will be on display at the Expo and looks to transport visitors on an interactive journey through H-D history from the very roots set down in 1903. The 2018 range will also be on show, with test rides –– available from the H-D Demo Truck.

There’s much more: the H.O.G. village sits at the heart of the action while the Dark Custom Arena combines blacked-out paint with adrenaline. Live acts are primed to play a mixture of rock and blues, reggae, rap, Czech and Slovak music and the action-packed motorcycle Stunt Show is guaranteed to get the blood pumping hard.

Stopping traffic on Saturday 7th the Parade will see thousands of Harley-Davidsons ride through the historic centre of Prague. An absolute highlight – and sure to be over-subscribed – entry to the Parade is via a ballot and by purchasing a Rally Pack. The Custom Bike Show throws a spotlight on the ultimate in two-wheeled creativity and, as Harley-Davidson is not just for adults, the Family Zone adds smiles to young faces. For bigger kids the Biker Games put riders’ skills on display – with a competitive edge!

The Jeep brand – a key partner and official sponsor of major Harley-Davidson events – will be in attendance throughout the 115th Anniversary in Prague, offering the opportunity to get behind the wheel of one of the iconic brand’s products. The Jeep Lounge will also feature a large range of Jeep merchandise to purchase.

Jarda Vavrina, Harley-Davidson Praha, Managing Director is looking forward to the event: “With Harley-Davidson Club Prague dating back to 1928, we have travelled many miles with H-D over many years. The 115th Anniversary in Prague will be so special in 2018, and we look forward to welcoming everybody to our city which is thanks to its history, culture and unique panoramas is a truly world-class tourist destination.”

Marc McAlister, Harley-Davidson International Managing Director agreed: “I can’t wait to celebrate 115 years of fantastic Harley-Davidson motorcycles with our friends, family, riders and fans in Prague. I can’t think of a better place to join our riders to mark this milestone in our company’s history – and we are hugely grateful to the city of Prague for opening the doors to Harley-Davidson riders from around the world enabling them to join our very special celebrations. We can’t wait for the party to start!”

Karla Šlechtová, Minister for Regional Development is equally delighted: “We are very proud that Harley-Davidson has chosen Prague as the main city for celebrations of the 115th Anniversary. We’re looking forward to welcoming Harley-Davidson fans, as well as all motorcycle fans and the general public. We hope that everyone will enjoy not only the celebrations but also the magical atmosphere of our city in the very heart of Europe. For us, it is a great opportunity to showcase the beauty of Prague and the Czech Republic. The event will also have positive economic impact.”
