Although The King of Cool, Steve McQueen, was usually seen riding Triumphs, he got a new favorite, when Husqvarna was introduced to the United States. This Husqvarna Cross 400 has belonged to McQueen’s personal collection and it is the very bike he used to rip in the desert shirtless in the classic motorcycling film On Any Sunday.
This bike will go into auction at the Barber Vintage Festival in Birmingham later this autumn. Unrestored after its movie role, this bike is a chance to own a truly unique piece of motorcycling history.
As if looking really sweet and co-starring in a major bike movie, the Husqvarna 400 Cross was also quite successful as a racer. A bike with a history is basically priceless, but Bonhams expect the price to climb as high as $100,000.
