Rukka presented a prototype of M-Clima vest, which is designed to improve rider comfort in hot or cold conditions by making regulating the temperature of the rider.
In hot conditions, the rider may start a fan providing fresh air inside the vest and for chilly weather there are heating elements. The vest is designed to be used directly over mid-layer, and it’s designed to maintain an air buffer, even if the rider used a backpack.
The cooling and heating elements work independently of each other. The innovative heating elements produce heat evenly without a danger of overheating present in conventional heating systems. The vest is meant to be connected in the bike’s electrical system, but for short-term release also a battery with 2 hour capacity is provided. The vest is controlled by a remote control.
Although the M-Clima is still on the prototype stage, Rukka are confident it will be commercially available for the 2019 season.
