Against expectations Yamaha didn’t present their Tenere 700 at the Intermot. Instead they had brought a well-used final version of the World Raid prototype.
According to rumours, the development team wasn’t happy with the suspension performance of the prototype, and the presentation had to be postponed in order to complete further testing. According to Yamaha representatives, the prototype is very close to the production bike, as quotes 85 % ready, and it will be shown in a month’s time in Milan’s Eicma motorcycle show.
That Yamaha are postponing the presentation is obviously a good thing, and means they are serious about making the Tenere 700 a truly capable midsize adventure bike.
